We are so proud of Emma Janofa, our amazing graduate who has now gone on to do great things working as a Cosmetologist at Walt Disney World!

Working for the Walt Disney World Company for four years, we caught up with Emma to hear how her time as a student helped her get her dream career.

What is your official job title and what are some of your typical daily duties?

My official job title is a Cosmetologist at the Walt Disney World Company. My typical daily duties are to clean and maintain the look of each of our character wigs. I help each performer properly place their wigs and make sure it is to our documentation. I also make sure each performer has the proper makeup to accurately accomplish their designated look.

How long have you worked for the Walt Disney Company?

I have been with the Walt Disney Company for 4 years. I have been in my current position for the last year.

What is your favorite part of your job?

My favorite part of my job is that I can do many different things. I can work in one of our many wig rooms, or I can work with celebrities when they come to the parks for filmings. I can even work on one of our Broadway style shows. The possibilities are endless!

What is your favorite memory as a student at Casal?

Getting to work with Sal Misseri and his team from Chicago. We got to do a photo shoot and it was an amazing opportunity! Also just getting to learn with some amazing women at Casal.

How did your time at Casal help you in your current position?

Casal definitely helped me with the technical aspect of my job. Learning the basics and how to improve upon them helped more than I realized. I will never take that for granted. Being hired in my position you definitely need to show that you have the technical abilities and have the willingness to continue to learn and build upon them.

What advice would you give to a student looking to pursue a similar career?

Be open to new possibilities. Not every cosmetologist is behind the chair. You can do anything from working at Disney to working on a movie set, or even on Broadway. The possibilities are so much more.

We are so excited for Emma and to share some of the amazing work she’s done for the Walt Disney World Company!
